The Hai'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hai'an, a county-level city in Jiangsu's Nantong, has recently earned recognition as a first-class institution in China, as announced by the Jiangsu Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Established in 1983, the 1,000-bed TCM hospital features TCM therapy as well as the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicines. In 2018, the hospital established a preparation plant.
Featuring 20 clinical departments, the hospital boasts a nationally acknowledged acupuncture department, key provincial departments specializing in oncology and spleen and stomach diseases, and municipally recognized departments including orthopedics, TCM gynecology, proctology, and eight others.
TCM practitioners at the hospital have developed 52 preparations, gaining popularity among local residents for their convenience, effectiveness and competitive pricing.
The hospital has also actively engaged itself in the Belt and Road Initiative, introducing TCM to other countries. In 2019, it established the China-Uzbekistan TCM Center, and in 2023, it carried out scientific research and academic exchanges with hospitals in Malta.
