A giant cat made of fallen leaves has found a home in downtown Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, local media reported on Dec 12.

The special cat was created by Ge Duo, a Nantong native, who collected most of the fallen leaves. The remaining leaves were received by Ge from net friends from around the country and even other countries after their New Year resolutions were written on the leaves.

"I had such an idea one month ago and then solicited fallen leaves online," said Ge, who starting making the giant cat on Dec 9.

He first used foam rubbers to make a rough cat shape onto which he pasted the leaves. Measuring three meters in height and two meters in width, the natural sculpture creates a visual shock for passersby and attracts many of them to pose for a picture with it.

Many people have also written their New Year's resolutions on fallen leaves and then pasted these leaves on the finished cat.

The giant cat now sits in front of the Nantong Museum and the creator will make some adjustments to his work according to the weather.

Next, Ge plans to paint 12 cartoon characters in the Haohe River scenic area to bring some surprises to people when they tour the beautiful spot.
