A signing ceremony for the Huayao smart procurement and distribution center took place on Nov 20 in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, Jiangsu province.

The center, with a total investment of 500 million yuan ($69.95 million), is backed by Suzhou Dongwu Pharmaceutical Technology Group Co Ltd. It will focus on the wholesale and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, encompassing medical sales, commercial distribution, end-user sales, pharmaceutical logistics, supply chain management, and a comprehensive health information service platform.

Dongwu Pharmaceutical Technology has dedicated to the field of pharmaceutical and medical equipment distribution since its establishment in 1983. The company's clientele spans 98 percent of public medical institutions in Suzhou.

In recent years, the Chongchuan Development Zone has actively promoted the aggregation of the smart pharmaceutical commerce industry, aiming to establish a regionally influential center for smart pharmaceutical procurement and distribution.

The establishment of the center is expected to help elevate the city's quality of life support and further improve the overall efficiency of pharmaceutical network distribution throughout the city.
