The sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) ended on Nov 10 in Shanghai. The Qidong trade delegation, consisting of 161 units and 369 people, attended the expo and signed purchase intention deals worth $73 million in total, according to the Qidong commerce bureau.

The delegation negotiated with Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, and Italy's San Giovanni Organic Winery on entering the Chinese market, and promoted Qidong's investment policies and business environment.

Staff from the Qidong Economic Development Zone said many exhibitors wanted to visit Qidong and carry out further cooperation. Many local enterprises said the expo had more exhibitors and products related to their fields than in the past, with great cooperation potential.

The local OWS Supermarket Chain Co Ltd also reached purchase intention agreements with Hong Kong Anji Seafood Co Ltd, Australia's Eureka Sunrise Food Co Ltd and others. OWS staff said they would connect and cooperate with them in the future in an effort to benefit Qidong citizens.
