Cycling series kicks off in Yazhou town

The 2023 Grand Canal Cycling Series (Hai'an) took place on Nov 12 in Yazhou town, Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province.

The event, consisting of Men's Elite Road, Men's Masters Road, Women's Road, and one amateur category, was attended by over 300 cyclists from the cities of Shanghai, Nantong, and Suzhou and the provinces of Zhejiang, Shandong, and Hebei.

The Men's Elite Road event was held first. Cyclists had to complete four laps, with each lap covering about 13.5 kilometers. After a thrilling race, the Maijin Technology – Bross team swept the top three positions.

The contestants of the following Women's Road and Men's Masters Road had to complete three laps. The champion of the Men's Masters Road was Yu Xuebin.

Yu Guangdong, who clinched the championship of the Women's Road, highlighted the good environment in Hai'an and her excellent competition experience. "The city is clean and race track conditions have all been met," said Yu.
