Qidong athlete Qian Wangwei shines at Asian Para Games

Qidong girl Qian Wangwei won the gold medal in the women's C1-C3 500m time trial of track cycling at the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, earning her second gold medal in track cycling.

In the women's C1-C3 500m time trial of track cycling, held on the afternoon of Oct 24, Qian won the gold medal with a time of 41.875 seconds and broke the Asian Para Games record again, putting her on the highest podium.

On Oct 23, Qian won her first gold medal in this Asian Para Games in the women's C1-C3 3000m individual pursuit of track cycling with a time of 4 minutes and 0.949 seconds, breaking the Asian Para Games record.

Qian said she will continue to participate in the women's C1-C3 13.7km individual time trial of road cycling in the future.

In 2018, Qian won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal at the National Games and was selected for the national team.

On Aug 25, 2021, in the qualifying round for the women's 3000m individual pursuit of track cycling at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, Qian tied the C1 world record with a time of 4 minutes and 31.476 seconds.
