The "Da Danxia" cargo ship left the Tongyang terminal of Lyusi Port in Tongzhou Bay in Qidong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 12, loaded with seven sets of China-made wind power equipment for Egypt, a country involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The equipment will be used for the Chinese-built Suez Bay wind power project, the largest wind power project in Africa.

The project will supply electricity to the southeastern region of Egypt, benefit nearly 1 million households in southeast Cairo, and produce about 2.7 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy per year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1 million metric tons. The project will help Egypt achieve its new energy strategy.
