During the just-concluded eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, or "golden week", Qidong, a county-level city of Nantong, received a total of 936,000 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 112.6 percent, while tourism revenues grew 118.5 percent year-on-year to 846 million yuan ($115.99 million).

Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area, Qitang Immersive City and Jiangtian Ecological Scenic Area, popular tourist attractions in the city, received a total of 194,300 visitors, generating 24.45 million yuan in tourism revenue.

During the holiday, Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area launched a series of tourism activities such as music festivals, firework shows and fair markets, attracting more than 70,000 visitors.

The city's public cultural venues, such as libraries, cultural centers and museums, carried out 25 activities, receiving over 60,000 visitors.

The catering economy also became a main driving force behing the city's tourism consumption boom, thanks to the arrival of the autumn fishing season. Lyusi fishing port was a hotspot destination for tourists looking to eat seafood.

In addition to the major attractions, camping in the countryside, barbecues, fishing and homestay experiences were popular.

The barbecue and camping festival held in Xinglong community, Qilong town attracted more than 2,000 people.
