The flagpoles used in the flag-raising ceremony during the opening ceremony of the ongoing 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou were made by Nantong Yaolong Metal Manufacturing Co Ltd in Tongzhou, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

A total of three flagpoles produced by Yaolong are being used at this year's Asian Games, with two for the opening ceremony and one for the closing ceremony. They stand at a height of 19 meters and are made from high-quality 316 stainless steel.

Upon being tasked with manufacturing the flagpoles, Yaolong adhered to national standards and the requirements set by the Asian Games Organizing Committee. They implemented stringent quality controls at every step of the production process and employed advanced intelligent wind-motion technology to ensure that both the national flag and the Asian Games flag would flutter in the breeze.

The company manufactured and installed the flagpoles in just four days' time.

Ma Sijian, the workshop director at Yaolong, said that the company subjected the raw materials for the three flagpoles to multiple inspections, aiming to present the highest-quality flagpoles possible on the grand stage of the event.

To date, Yaolong flagpoles have been used in several prestigious events, including the Qatar World Cup and the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
