Rapid development transforms Yangkou Port into thriving urban center

Since the development of Yangkou Port New City commenced in 2007, the local administration has over the years steadfastly improved infrastructure, public services, and industrial projects to create a livable environment. The once modest town is quickly becoming a main urban center of Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu province.
Situated 8 kilometers west of downtown Rudong and 3.5 kilometers north of the Yangkou Port's industrial zone, the new city has been transformed through years of planning and construction.
Currently, the area boasts 15 residential complexes and a well-connected road network. The built-up area of the new city now spans 2 square kilometers and is home to nearly 30,000 residents. The area is presently planning a commercial complex and hotels to cater to the diverse needs of its inhabitants. Its future vision includes an area of 6.38 square kilometers accommodating a population of 80,000 to 150,000 people.
In recent years, with the successive establishment of major projects, the industrial workforce in the city area has surged, numbering around 20,000 people. The area is adopting tailored strategies to ensure residents enjoy a highly livable environment.
