Turkiye-based ChenSolar Co signed an agreement to build a new energy global headquarters in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province on Aug 15.

The 400-million-dollar facility is expected to manufacture photovoltaic cells, modules, and commercial satellite solar wings, according to authorities.

ChenSolar is European's largest solar module producer and established a PV module factory in the area in 2002. It decided to expand investment in the area largely due to its geographical location and business environment, according to Chen Hanpei, general manager of SolarChen.

Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong, said at the signing ceremony that Nantong boasts abundant photovoltaic resources and has in recent years been bolstering its new energy sector.

Wu added that authorities will continue efforts to create a favorable business environment for foreign investors.
