The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment released the air quality rankings of 54 counties, county-level cities and districts for the first half of 2023.

Qidong ranked first in the province with a PM2.5 concentration of 26 micrograms per cubic meter and a ratio of 86.2 percent for days with good air quality in the first half of 2023.

The top 10 counties, county-level cities and districts in terms of PM2.5 concentrations are Qidong, Rudong, Taicang (tied with Haimen), Jiangning (tied with Tongzhou), and Liuhe (tied with Yixing, Wujiang, Changshu, and Kunshan).

The top 10 counties, county-level cities and districts in terms of number of days with excellent air quality were Qidong, Rudong, Taicang, Jiangyin (tied with Zhangjiagang), Yixing, Haimen, Kunshan (tied with Tongzhou), and Lishui (tied with Changshu and Xuyi).
