Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has made strides in attracting industrial projects and promoting the construction of projects in the first half of 2023.

In June, Beijing Vacuum Electronics Technology Co Ltd signed an agreement with the Nantong High-tech Industrial Development Zone to build a facility for manufacturing key parts of intelligent testing equipment.

The project will cost 500 million yuan ($70.13 million) and is expected to produce an annual output value of over 500 million yuan.

Zhang Jifeng, general manager of the company said he is satisfied with the comprehensive services provided by the local government and the friendly business environment in the zone.

Tongzhou has also been focusing on building a friendly business environment in recent years and has improved 66 measures related to services geared toward local enterprises.

Local authorities have also simplified the approval procedures for projects, aiming to promote project construction.

Additionally, the local government has implemented an innovative system in which government officials are responsible for project progress. The government has also organized visits to local enterprises to help them achieve more rapid development.

In the first half of 2023, Tongzhou's GDP is expected to grow by 8 percent year-on-year.

Taxable sales among industrial enterprises above designated size and taxable sales in the service industry in the district are expected to increase by 13 percent and 30 percent, respectively, compared to the same period in 2022.
