The 2023 Qidong (Shanghai) Conference of Foreign Enterprises was held in Shanghai on May 25.

More than 60 foreign entrepreneurs attended the conference. Li Ling, deputy mayor of Nantong and Party secretary of Qidong, delivered a speech.

According to Li, as the only city in Jiangsu province close to the river and the sea, Qidong has unique advantages in terms of its location, transportation infrastructure and resources. In the future, it will only take 30 minutes to get to Shanghai from Qidong, and the vast number of foreign-funded enterprises will have a bright future in Qidong.

In recent years, the city has made every effort to guide foreign investment into electronic information and semiconductors, biomedicine, new energy, and offshore shipbuilding industries.

A number of leading foreign enterprises, such as Bayer Pharmaceutical, Hitachi Metals and Fengshu, have achieved rapid development in Qidong.

Li also said she hoped that guests from financial and investment institutions as well as chambers of commerce can introduce more foreign enterprises from around the world to Qidong and invest in Qidong.
