Nantong Xingdong International Airport in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, will launch one flight to Hong Kong per day starting from May 26.

Nantong is the third city in Jiangsu to open direct flights to HK after Nanjing and Wuxi. "HK is an important airport hub connecting the world," said Feng Qi, vice-general manager of Nantong Airport Group Co Ltd. "The new flight will make it more convenient for HK businessmen to travel between the two cities."

In addition, Nantong airport will launch passenger air routes to South Korea's Jeju Island and Seoul as well as Japan's Osaka in the near future. Transfers have also recently resumed at Nantong airport.

When the airport opened a new flight schedule on March 26, it added 10 more flights to Nanning, Xining, and Guilin with total daily flights increasing to over 110 and reaching 36 cities.

So far this year, Nantong airport has transported more than 1.06 million passengers, an increase of 4.22 percent compared with the same period in 2019.

Nantong airport has been offering customized services to passengers with special needs, passenger groups, and passengers who are traveling by air for the first time. During holidays, the airport usually arranges volunteers to assist passengers.
