The deals for 26 new projects in Binhai new district in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province were signed on March 30, local media reported.

The move is part of efforts by local authorities to promote industrial development.

Yu Lizhong, Party secretary of the CPC Hai'an, attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech.

Yu said that attracting investment has been an important approach to boosting the county's development. He noted that Binhai new district, which has been focusing on sustainable and coordinated development, has made progress in introducing projects in recent years.

The county has identified scientific innovation and advanced manufacturing as the main drivers of its economy and made efforts to introduce projects related to this respect this year.

During the ceremony, the deputy mayor of Hai'an issued certificates of appointment to two investment officers of Binhai new district.

The ceremony also witnessed the opening ceremony for the construction of a demonstration zone for industrial development.
