March 12 marks Tree-planting Day in China. In celebration of the special day, let's talk about some of the most notable trees in Qidong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

There are three centuries-old ginkgo trees in Lyusi town, with the oldest located in a soy sauce factory.

The factory was built on the site of Chenghuang Temple, also known as the City God Temple, and legend has it that the ginkgo tree was planted by a temple monk during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

The ginkgo tree is 25 meters in height and 110 centimeters in girth and requires at least three people to completely surround it.
