More trees to improve living environment in Rudong
Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, aims to afforest 4,060 mu (270.67 hectares) of land this year to improve the county's living environment, according to local authorities.
Official statistics show that the county will build a 6,176-mu forest, a 3,000-mu new farmland forest network, and a 15,000-mu updated farmland forest network.
In addition, the county will establish 15 volunteer tree planting bases, plant 400,000 trees and cultivate 250,000 rare trees.
In recent years, the county has been making efforts to increase its afforestation area and boost the economic effects of afforestation.
In February, the county was designated a provincial ecological garden city due to its progress in improving the environment.
