The 24 production lines at the factory of Sinarmas Paper in Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, started operating recently, according to local media.

The facility is the world's largest factory for paper for daily use and has an annual production capacity of 780,000 metric tons.

The factory was funded by Indonesia's Sinar Mas Group and is one of the county's key provincial projects.

According to local authorities, the manufacturing techniques, equipment, and control system used at the facility are at the global cutting edge, helping improve production efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

For example, the power consumption per metric ton of paper produced has been reduced from 800 kWh to less than 600 kWh, while production efficiency has been improved by 25 percent.

In addition, the facility has been using imported bleaching wood pulp as a raw material.

Combined with advanced treatment equipment, the facility's air pollutant discharge index meets ultra-low emissions standards, while the quality of treated water is above Grade A, the highest standard for sewage discharge.
