Nantong receives nearly 4m visitors during Spring Festival holiday

Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province received nearly 4 million visitors during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, up 22.1 percent from last year.
The city also generated more than 3.1 billion yuan ($457.58 million) in tourism revenue during the festival, a year-on-year increase of 20.6 percent.
Tourist attractions in Nantong held various activities to celebrate the festival.
Langshan Mountain scenic area had a strong festive atmosphere with many red lanterns and invited people to strike the bell to pray for a good year. The circus performances at Nantong Forest Safari Park were watched by 15,000 people per day over the holiday. Nantong Botanical Garden and Zhouji Green Expo Garden organized exhibitions of tropical plants and potted landscapes.
Cultural facilities, including museums, art galleries, and libraries, in the city launched over 4,000 activities during the seven-day holiday.
Exhibitions at Nantong Art Museum, for example, attracted 12,000 visitors and reading games at Nantong Library were participated in by a large number of local students.
The Nantong Eminent Figures Museum invited blue calico, woodblock painting, lantern, sugar painting, paper cutting, and simulation embroidery craftsmen to showcase their skills.
