Qidong sees rapid development in 2022

The GDP of Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, is expected to reach 140 billion yuan ($20.42 billion) in 2022, an increase of 2.4 percent, according to the fifth plenary session of the 14th Qidong CPC committee that commenced on Dec 28, 2022.

The city's general public budget revenue is expected to exceed 8.43 billion yuan in 2022.

The per capita disposable incomes of urban and rural residents reached 57,200 yuan and 32,600 yuan, respectively, in 2022, up by 4.2 percent and 6.2 percent.

The renovation of old residential areas built before 2000 in the city was completed as well, and the city set its development goal for 2023.

The GDP and general public budget revenue are expected to grow by about 6 percent and 16 percent in 2023. The city’s overall R&D investment is expected to account for 2.75 percent of its GDP.

The added value of above-designated-size industrial enterprises is expected to increase by 5.5 percent, while investment in fixed assets and the manufacturing industry are scheduled to increase by 6 percent and 8 percent, respectively.

Retail sales of consumer goods are expected to increase by more than 3 percent, and actual utilized foreign capital is expected to reach $460 million.
