In response to the increasing public demand for antipyretic drugs, Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has taken special steps to guarantee supply.

A work team set up by Rudong authorities has contacted various drug suppliers to make more drugs available for local residents in the county. 

To date, this team has secured more than 400,000 ibuprofen and acetaminophen pills which have been distributed to medical institutions in the county.

According to the latest regulation, residents with COVID-19 symptoms can receive the medicine for free as long as they have a prescription. 

To meet the growing need for medical services, 18 fever clinics in the county and all fever departments in 240 village healthcare centers have been opened to the public. 

The county has also launched 24-hour online diagnosis and telephone consultation since Dec 13 to better serve the public. Both services are operated by a team of medical experts from 14 medical institutions in the county.
