Hai'an Jinhua Apparel Co Ltd in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was recently listed among the third batch of creative bases for intangible cultural heritage items in Jiangsu by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
The provincial department requires these bases to strengthen their research and development of creative intangible cultural heritage products and their derivatives to function as a destination for cultural innovation, tourism, and education.
Hai'an Jinhua Apparel is a protector of Nantong tie-dying techniques and the company has integrated modern technology with the traditional craft to produce different kinds of tie-dying products.
Among them, a folding screen featuring 108 characters in Outlaws of the Marsh, a classic Chinese novel, has won the most prestigious Mountain Flower Award from the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
