Two magicians from Rudong in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, were recently listed for the national magician development program by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The ministry will invite magic artists, senior directors and producers to give lectures and hold training sessions for listed magicians to help them improve their performance.

Ding Yang, a member of the acrobatics troupe in Rudong, is famous for her pigeon forge magic show and is hailed as the "queen of pigeons" in Nantong.

Her performance earned her the Golden Chrysanthemum Award, the top award for magic shows China, in 2015, and Canada's Allan Slaight Award for International Rising Star in 2019.

Ding used to be an acrobat, but changed careers due to an accident in 2006. She then devoted herself to learning magic and became the first person to win the title of “international magician” in Jiangsu in 2012.

She is always striving to improve her craft and took a training course at the Greg Frewin Theater in Canada from March to July 2018.
