Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently made the first list provincial demonstrations for integrating the culture and tourism industries.

The provincial recognition is a result of Chongchuan's effort to develop the culture and tourism industries in recent years.

For example, Tangzha town, which is known as a remaining modern industrial town, has become a popular spot in Chongchuan.

The ruins of the Dasheng Cotton Mills in Tangzha town have been renovated as an important cultural symbol for tourists to learn about the industrial history of Chongchuan.

The Nantong Langshan Forest Park in Chongchuan is a national 4A tourist attraction, and the Buddhist temple located in the scenic area will provide visitors with opportunities to experience Buddhist culture.

The district is currently home to one 5A scenic spot and three 3A scenic spots.

It also boasts 158 cultural enterprises above designated size and 5,232 medium and small-sized cultural enterprises.

In addition, Chongchuan has launched policies to boost consumption in the culture and tourism industries.

The district has so far provided residents and tourists with consumption subsidies of over 10 million yuan ($1.43 million) and has increased consumption by nearly 200 million yuan.
