A bronze statue of Hendrik de Rijke, a Dutch hydraulic engineer who was hired by Zhang Jian to preside over hydraulic projects in Nantong, stands not far from the Nangongyuan Bridge.

The bridge boasts warm breezes in spring, blooming lotus flowers in summer and scenic views of Haohenan Park.
