The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has in recent years taken measures to create a favorable working environment for local workers.

Just several days ago, a courier surnamed Peng who started working for ZTO Express in NETDA was impressed by the labor union which not only sent gifts to him but also arranged an experienced courier to train him.

Home to several leading logistics companies, including JD and Yunda, NETDA is an important distribution center for Nantong's express packages. To better serve outdoor workers, the NETDA Federation of Trade Unions has set up 10 labor unions for relevant industries and built 12 service stations, benefiting nearly 10,000 workers.

To improve the techniques of industrial workers, the federation has worked with the local human resources and social security bureau to provide training sessions to over 50,000 people in the last two years and established 46 studios for craftsmen training.

Local enterprises have also worked to improve the wellbeing of their workers. Jiangsu Iphay Biotechnology Co Ltd, for example, has a 2,000-square meter activity center for employees. A fitness room, coffee house, and reading room can also be found at the company.
