More than 100 students from the Confucius Culture School in Barcelona, Spain and Nantong High School in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, learned about Ganoderma lucidum or lingzhi, online on Aug 16.
They visited the Fungus Park at Nantong-based Alphay International Inc both online and offline to observe the growth of Ganoderma lucidum before Alphay's employees gave lectures on the history and medicinal value of the fungus as well as its application and development prospects.

Before the online class concluded, overseas Chinese students at the Confucius Culture School in Barcelona drew Ganoderma lucidum with paint brushes.
The event is part of the online Chinese culture class program, which offers overseas Chinese language schools high-quality courses on Chinese culture to familiarize their students with traditional Chinese culture and promote Chinese culture abroad.
Alphay is an overseas Chinese-invested enterprise specializing in the research of edible and medicinal fungus and related products. In recent years, the enterprise has been constructing an exchange base for outstanding traditional Chinese culture and designed cultural courses suitable for primary and secondary school students.
Built in 2004, the Confucius Culture School in Barcelona is one of the largest Chinese language schools in Europe and has more than 2,500 students on its six campuses.
