Nantong's tourism sector revives in summer
The tourism sector of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province saw a recovery in summer as a series of policies and measures have been implemented in the city to help boost the sector's growth.
Since May, the city's cultural and tourism department has held activities such as the Nantong cultural and tourism consumption promotion season, Nantong rural tourism festival, and various culture festivals to spur consumption and drive the recovery of the cultural and tourism market.
The Golden Beach Scenic Area reopened to the public on May 4. As of Aug 16, the number of tourists there had reached 307,000, double that of the same period last year, according to Wang Ning, director of the tourism development bureau of the Qidong Yuantuojiao Resort management committee.

To attract tourists, the scenic area has prepared a series of summer activities, including digging for clams, watching sea lion performances, taking the sightseeing train along the beach and watching light shows at night.
Next, the city will hold activities such as the Jianghai International Culture and Tourism Festival and Nantong Culture and Tourism Week to stimulate cultural and tourism consumption. Nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters and tourism and leisure blocks will also be established.
