​Changjiang town among top 500 towns in China

Changjiang town in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, ranked 90th on the 2022 list of the top 500 high-quality development towns in China, local media reported on Aug 4.

The list evaluated the comprehensive economic strength of towns in various aspects, including general public budget revenue, size of the permanent population and floating population, number of enterprises and industrial enterprises above designated size, and number of stores and supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Since 2022, Changjiang town has been striving to promote economic and social development and carry out the construction of major projects.

From January to June, the industrial taxable sales of Changjiang town totaled 30.17 billion yuan ($4.47 billion), a year-on-year increase of 46.86 percent.

In the first five months, the completed general public budget revenue was 579 million yuan, the same as last year. The actual use of foreign capital reached $55.27 million, while the total export value was 5.02 billion yuan.
