Playing with water is a joy that is preferred by many people to escape the heat of the hot summer. In downtown Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, there is just such an ideal place for the public to go for free.
Located in the greenbelt to the east of the Haohe River in Chongchuan district, a swimming pool opens from 8 am to 10 pm. Many parents like to bring kids at 4-5 pm when the sun isn't so hot.
The 1,200-square-meter pool has a maximum depth of 50 centimeters and a minimum depth of 20-30 cm, which is suitable for children to play.

Though it's open for free, the pool is managed to high standards.
In addition to clean and cool water, there is also a 600-sq-m man-made beach covered with white sand that is supplied from South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
