Recommended patriotic scenic spots in Qidong
Editor's note: Six themed travel routes in Qidong – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – were rolled out during the Qidong Cultural, Tourism and Food Consumption Season on June 11.
Qidong is a city with a living and thriving revolutionary and patriotic spirit and the best patriotic travel routes there include the following sites: the Renmin Bridge, the ninth branch of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, the former site of the first county government and the former residence of Shen Yigong.

Located in Qidong Southeast High School, the ninth branch of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University includes the Zhang Jian Farming and Husbandry Education Memorial Hall, the memorial hall of the university and the Qidong Southeast High School History Museum.

The first county government was set up in Caojia town in 1949 in a two-level office building. After being relocated elsewhere, the former site now serves as an office and a lounge for teachers in Dajiang High School.

Shen Yigong, director of the Political Department of the Qidong Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army, founded Qidong Southeast High School, the first public high school under the leadership of the CPC in Southeast China.
