The Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has in recent years been leveraging emerging and next-generation technologies to bolster the development of the city's digital cultural industry.

The zone is home to companies that are engaged in livestreaming e-commerce, Animation-Comic-Games (ACG), e-sport, digital equipment, and digital movie and television.

Zeng Chao, the operations director of a livestreaming e-commerce base located in Chongchuan, said that the company has managed to promote the products of several local textile enterprises through short videos and livestreaming platforms.

The zone has also been applying technologies such as 5G and VR in e-sports and livestreaming over the past years.

In 2021, the combined sales revenue of digital cultural companies accounted for 28.8 percent of the total sales revenues of cultural enterprises in the zone. From January to May, 10 digital cultural companies above designated size were set up in the zone. Nine digital cultural projects were also shortlisted as important cultural projects by the city.
