The Marshall Islands-registered LNG tanker Zarga, loaded with 113,000 metric tons of liquefied natural gas, berthed on July 6 at the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port – located in Rudong county, administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.

The Zarga's load will be gasified into 160 million cubic meters of natural gas, to provide strong support for the terminal's gas supplies during the summer peak season, when air conditioning reaches peak levels.

In the first half of the year, the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal received and unloaded 38 LNG tankers, carrying 3.4 million tons of LNG and gasified and it transmitted 4.9 billion cu m of natural gas.

The facility is one of the largest LNG terminals in the Yangtze River Delta region. It has six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cu m.

When operating at full capacity, it can meet the gas needs of 23 million households for one month during peak consumption periods.

At present, the terminal is accelerating the construction of a support wharf and is planning to add another LNG storage tank and support gasification facilities, according to officials.
