An academic forum on traditional Chinese medicine was held online by the Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on June 16.

Medical experts from the Nantong hospital and Siena University Hospital in Italy shared their opinions on the role played by TCM in maintaining health and their experiences in medical treatment with TCM.

The Belt and Road TCM International Cooperation Base was inaugurated the same day. The base is expected to organize international academic forums for TCM and training sessions for international exchange students to promote TCM in more countries.

The Nantong TCM hospital has reached consensus with Siena University Hospital since 2019 in cooperation on talent cultivation, technology sharing, and artificial intelligence.

During COVID-19 outbreaks, the Nantong Hospital of TCM worked with Siena University Hospital to combat the pandemic by using TCM, which is effective in treating common, frequently-occurring, and chronic diseases.
