Banyao kites exhibition opens at Nantong Eminent Figures Museum
An exhibition of exquisite banyao kites opened at the Nantong Eminent Figures Museum, which is located in the Chongchuan district of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, on June 10.
Banyao kites are large and flat whistling kites with hexagonal frames adorned with exquisite decorations and vibrant colors. In 2006, Nantong's banyao kite making skill was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage item. [Photo/Nantong Daily]

The exhibition is part of the series of activities in celebration of China's 17th Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which fell on June 11 this year, and will run to June 26. During the exhibition, primary and secondary school students will be organized to try their hand on making banyao kites.
