A naming and celebration ceremony for a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) which was converted from a very large crude carrier (VLCC) owned by Yinson Holdings in Malaysia, was held in Qidong – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – on June 8.
It is the second FPSO that COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore Co Ltd has converted for Yinson Holdings. The new vessel was officially named FPSO Anna Nery.
The conversion project involved repair, modification, system upgrading, hoisting and the integration of modules, as well as other operations, and was completed with a high level of difficulty and in a short timeframe.
The refurbished and refitted FPSO is able to store 1 million barrels of crude oil, with a maximum daily gas processing capacity of about 39,750 cubic meters, which can be called an "offshore oil and gas plant".
