Jinhai town in Qidong – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – is home to a power station that integrates peony planting and solar power generation.
With an installed capacity of 18 megawatts, the solar power park was funded and built by Jiangsu Linyang Energy Co Ltd in 2016 and was connected to the grid that year.
Since the solar power park was completed, it annually provides 18 million kilowatts of electricity, saves 5,320 metric tons of standard coal and reduces emissions by 14,199 tons of carbon dioxide, 108 tons of sulfur dioxide and 36 tons of nitrogen oxides. This is said to generate economic benefits in an environmentally friendly way.
