A floating crane capable of both transportation and hoisting was launched in Haimen, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 25.

The floating crane, called "Wu Dong De", is mainly used for wind power development on the sea.

The functions of traditional floating cranes and deck carriers were integrated into this new type of multifunctional floating crane, which is capable of extending the average annual operation period of offshore wind power by 30-50 days.

It is 182 meters long, 46 meters wide and 15 meters deep. It has a deck with an open area of 6,200 square meters and a loading capacity of over 10,000 metric tons.

It can carry up to four sets of 2,000-ton wind-driven generators, and its transportation capacity is equivalent to a 30,000-ton deck carrier. Its maximum lifting capacity is 3,000 tons.

In addition, the crane can carry out port loading, marine transportation, hoisting and piling, reducing construction costs.
