Residents of Haimen, a district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have taken a strong liking to the handmade hamburgers sold at a local street vendor.

Many people wait in line for as long as an hour for the hamburger, as the vendor doesn't accept reservations.

Huang Jian, born in the 1990s, is the owner of the popular vendor and has been engaged in the food industry for many years. He usually spends a third of his day studying food.

After two years of exploration, Huang decided to share his delicacy with the world by setting up a street vendor on Zhenzhong Road, Haimen.

"April 16 was my first day selling the hamburger and it took just three days for it to become popular among local residents," said Huang, explaining that on the third day, there were already several customers waiting for him outside his food cart.

The bread used for the hamburger is baked by Huang himself every day, while the juicy meat patty is made of beef he buys early in the morning.

Huang usually first bakes the bread on an iron plate and then the patty is seasoned with black pepper and covered with a slice of cheese. After adding some fresh vegetables, the hamburger tastes heavenly.
