Large liquefied natural gas tanker CESI TIANJIN berthed on May 7 at the Guanghui Lyusi LNG terminal – in the county-level city of Qidong, administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – carrying 72,025 metric tons of LNG that can supply thousands of households.
It is the seventh LNG tanker that Lyusi Port has received in the current year, injecting power into the energy supply in the Yangtze River Delta region amid the COVID-19 epidemic.
Laying equal emphasis on epidemic prevention and control and transport safety, the Nantong maritime affairs bureau undertook a range of measures to ensure the smooth shipment of key energy supplies such as LNG.
The CESI TIANJIN, with a length of 290 meters and a width of 45.6 m, carried 163,500 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas which after gasification will convert to over 102 million cu m of natural gas.
It is estimated that with each household consuming an average of 20 cu m of natural gas per month, it can satisfy the annual demand of some 426,000 households.
