An easy-to-use nucleic acid sampling site debuted on May 1 in Nantong city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – bringing practical convenience to locals.
The new station is situated in the Qidong Economic Development Zone, in the county-level city of Qidong, administered by Nantong.
The orange cabin has four windows: two for information registration and two for sampling. Though small, the cabin is well equipped with a positive pressure purification system, a UV ozone disinfection lamp and an air conditioner.
"After the positive pressure purification system is turned on, the air pressure inside the cabin is higher than outside, which can effectively prevent the entry of external airflow and protect the safety of medical staff," said Lu Haiying, technical director of Aipu Vehicles – producer of the cabin.
"We also set up alcohol sprays at the sampling windows to facilitate environment disinfection and improve safety," Lu added
When the cabin is not used for nucleic acid sampling, it can also serve as a convenient service room, a sentry box, or an individual retail vehicle, becoming part of the urban functional space.
