The Nantong Free Trade Zone, in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently established groups of escort staff members to individually guide incoming trucks, ensuring the freight flows smoothly to its very end destination there.

One of the beneficiaries was Hichain Logistics' Asia Pacific distribution center, which on April 20 called for help. Nine containers of display glass that had been detained in Shanghai for 10 days were in urgent need of warehousing, otherwise the business of Corning Incorporated, a Global Fortune 500 company, would face claims for a delayed delivery.

The Nantong FTZ immediately arranged an escort to rush through vehicle approval procedures, arrange the pickup and driving routes and prepare for loading and unloading and vehicle disinfection in advance. As a result, later that day, the cargo arrived safely at its destination.

The escorts are estimated to have picked up nearly 200 trucks in total since April 9, guaranteeing the supply of raw materials and equipment for enterprises and project sites.
