Nantong scenic areas prepare to reopen

Scenic areas in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have been preparing to reopen after the current wave of COVID-19 comes under control, local media reported on April 19.

Meanwhile, staff members at the city's main scenic spots have been busy planting trees, improving entertainment facilities, and disinfecting.

Haohe scenic area is an open-style 5A-level scenic area featuring natural and cultural landscapes. In light of COVID-19, the scenic area has dispatched more staff members to popular sites in the scenic area to prevent tourists from forming large gatherings.

In addition, the scenic area has been equipped with over 200 monitor devices to assist monitoring personnel.

Improvements have also been made to the Haohe scenic area. Nearly 2,500 trees and shrubs and 86,000 square meters of lawn have been trimmed and regular maintenance, including weeding, fertilizing, and cleaning up fallen leaves, has continued.

The Langshan National Forest Park plans to replace 200,000 grass flowers with Salvia splendens, maidenhair, petunia hybrid, and other species before the May Day holiday, according to an employee at the scenic spot.
