Qidong city unveils new incentives to attract talent
The county-level city of Qidong – administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – has rolled out a raft of new policies, designed to attract more professionals and entrepreneurs to come and settle down in the city and to start up businesses.
Talent introduced in Qidong will be divided into nine categories which have been established in the initiative. Top-flight personnel in category A can receive up to 100 million yuan ($15.7 million); high-end personnel in category B can receive up to 10 million yuan, while talent in other categories can receive up to 5 million yuan in funding.
According to the development of the enterprises these personnel created, a maximum of 3 million yuan will be re-funded within six years.
In terms of the development of talent carriers, Qidong will grant up to 2 million yuan as a subsidy to sci-tech enterprise incubators and maker spaces that are recognized by the nation and up to 200,000 yuan to those that have received provincial recognition.
In addition, the city has also opened a fast-track channel for top-flight personnel – to deal with their affairs, such as the school enrollments for their kids, spouse and children's settlements, applications for entry-exit documents, automobile registration and so on.
