Qidong city contributes to Shanghai's anti-epidemic work
At the Yonghe vegetable cooperative in Nanyang town – in Qidong, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – a truck carrying over 10,000 kilograms of fresh vegetables hit the road on April 4, bound for Shanghai in East China.

Hu Jiandong, one of the managers of the cooperative, said the seasonal vegetables included cauliflowers, spinach, cabbages and broccoli.
"From the end of March, we have had to make sure that 50-60 metric tons of vegetables are delivered to Shanghai every day," Hu added.

With the assistance of various departments in the two cities – engaged in agriculture, transport, commerce, sales, healthcare and public security – the transit times and inspection process for the vegetables have been reduced.
During the past 20 days or so, more than 30 large producers in Qidong worked together to guarantee the vegetable supply of Shanghai.
Since late March, producers, cooperatives and family farms have seized the opportunity to harvest the various outdoor vegetables of the season.
They are said to have tried their best to provide more fresh vegetables for Shanghai's citizens, in the midst of the outbreak.
At present, the daily sales of Qidong-grown vegetables transported to Shanghai on average exceed 200 tons, according to Wang Xiaojun, an official at the Qidong agriculture and rural affairs bureau.
