Fruit producer Nantong Taohuayuan Fruit Co Ltd settled in 2017 in Yongxu village in Hai'an – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – and now has over 33 hectares of land under cultivation, some 20 ha of which are planted with peaches of different varieties.

At present, the peach blossoms are in full bloom, which are attracting lots of tourists to admire them. One enthusiast, Ms Zhou, visited there on March 24 to take in the wonderful views of spring with her friends and said she was inspired by the experience.

Taohuayuan Fruit's general manager Xu Haijian said prospects for the company looked good.

"Moving forwards, we will apply insecticides and fungicides, as well as loosen the soil and weeds. When the trees bear fruit, we will pick them and bag up all the peaches that look good, so as to ensure they have good luster and we have a high yield," Xu said.

"Because our peaches come in different varieties and are good looking, in addition to Hai'an locals, people from Nantong, Shanghai and Suzhou want to visit us and have a go at picking peaches," he added.

Yongxu village is where the Hai'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone's agricultural park is located, with four leading agricultural technology firms having settled there.

It integrates agricultural production and sightseeing, tourism and is proficient in producing grapes, apples, oranges, roses and dragon fruit. This is driving the village's economy, according to Gu Xingguo, secretary of Yongxu village's general Party branch.
