The National Motor Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Jiangsu) project recently broke ground in the Tongzhou district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.
Approved by the former State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in December 2016, the center is being built on the old site of the Nantong Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute.
Receiving an investment of over 50 million yuan ($7.85 million), the project contains an experimental center and a special testing center.
It is expected that the infrastructure and the preliminary assessment for its laboratory qualification will be completed this year. Plans are for it to undergo project acceptance conducted by the national quality inspection administration in the first half of next year.
On completion, it is expected the center will provide first-class testing services for motor products and meet the inspection and testing needs of various business entities to the highest level.
