New artists in Jiangsu province are getting a chance to show off their talent at a special exhibition for them at the Nantong Art Museum. It opened on March 17 and will run to the end of March. [Video by Xu Peiqin/ntfabu.com]

The eighth exhibition of works created by new artists from East China's Jiangsu province kicked off on March 17 at the Nantong Art Museum, which is located in the Chongchuan district of Nantong city in the region.

Launched by the Jiangsu Artist Association in 2006, the event – co-sponsored by the Jiangsu Artists Association and the publicity department of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee – has become a major platform for cultivating new artists and promoting new work in Jiangsu.

Gathering the fruit of Jiangsu's creative art over the past two years, the exhibition is said to reflect the new achievements and characteristics of contemporary art in the region. It received 2,042 works from across the province in September and October last year.

The event will run to March 31.
