The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently announced the list of 2022 key cultural and tourism projects.

Six of them, which are located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, will receive a total investment of 13 billion yuan ($2.06 billion).

Rudong county, administered by the prefecture-level city of Nantong, has two of the six.

Plans are for the Rudong Ruyiwan classical culture park – one of the two – to have a total floor space of 70,000 square meters, with a planned investment of 1.6 billion yuan.

The park will mainly be built with public landscape gardens, a central lake, an exhibition area for folk culture and a group of ancient dwellings and courtyards. The main structure of the park is scheduled to start construction this year.

Bencha ancient town is the other project included on the list. In late September last year, Zhongshi Street in the ancient town was opened to the public. The entire town will be open during the May Day holiday this year after a revamp.
